GETTING CONNECTED AS A NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENT

I have been having a lot of fun lately on the web. There are some websites I am SO excited about that I want to share with all non-traditional students here on this page. Some are networking sites I have recently found - and others help you or your group get on the web yourselves. It helps a LOT to get connected as a non-traditional student - and here are some sites to get you started.

SQUIDOO

I just found Squidoo. It's a site where everyone can share their expertise on different subjects - and get to keep 50% of the ad revenue. That's right - Squidoo shares with you. It's like a co-op. I have a few lenses (Squidoo's word for pages) already up. They are here:

A little about Trolls... and why I love them
The Best Books and Collectibles Ever - on Squidoo
What People Need to Know about Non-Traditional Students - and
The Beginner's Guide to Squidoo

So far, it's been fun to do the lenses, and I plan to add more. If you join Squidoo here, I will get a $5 bonus later, and so will you.

FACEBOOK - I would advise all non-traditional college students to get on Facebook right away. It's a great place to link up with other students, and keep track of the students you are meeting while you are in school. Go here to see my Facebook page, and send me a request to be your friend there.

MYSPACE - Although this site started up as just a site for younger people, now more and more older people are joining because it's fun. there are a lot of things you can do to dress up your site, too. MySpace always brings in the newest technology and add-ons to make the site more fun.

DEL.ICIO.US - this is another great site where people share links. You can open this site when you first get online, and then "tag" interesting sites you like. You can also look at other people's del.iciou.us tags.
