Here are some older links and information about Nontraditional Student support in this state. There may still be some clues here to help you find help and support at your school.
Look for updates this year (2015). Or send in your information to bring this page up to date. Thanks!
The Turning Points Group of Allegany
College of Maryland was the Non-Traditional
Student Group of the Month here on the Non-Ttraditional
Students website for January, 2008.
From their email: We are a non-tradtional student group at
our local community college. We opened July 13, 2007. We actually
have our own house on campus that has been converted to offices
and labs that serve the non-trad student. We offer a home like
atmosphere for the students. There is always coffee and tea
available and usually some sort of snack. Students come here
to study and socialize.
This house sounds both practical and fun. What a great idea!
I know that if I lived in Maryland, I would want to go and check
it out. The University's contact information is:
Alleghany College of Maryland, 12401 Willowbrook Road, SE á
Cumberland, MD 21502-2596 á 301-784-5005
Students may email Ms. McCormack, Admin. Asst., at nmccormick@allegany.edu.
You can find out more about the college at their website here:
Allegany College of Maryland.
They also have a web page about their Continuing
Education program, plus child
care facilities for ages 3-6. They offer a Virtual
Tour of their three campuses online, too.
Towson University, in Towson, Maryland, has a special page for Nontrads at their website. Included here are pages about Daycare for children 2-4, and their Women's Center. This site is definitely worth a look.
