Western Kentucky University's South Campus in Bowling
Green, Kentucky has an active group called Women
in Transition.
Their motto is "Helping Women Expand Their Horizons."
This group helps female students and has its own lounge complete
with couches, chairs, and computers. They have two faculty advisors.
You can find out more about this group online. Here is their
web page:
This WKU group is currently inactive (2007-2008).
They once had a chapter at the Main Campus, and one at the South
Campus as well. Below is the link to the WKU Non-Traditional
Student Information Page:
Attn: some links on the WKU Non-trads page
are no longer current. However, you can still find valuable
information here.
This
Yahoo group online is a forum for WKU students , former
students, or people who are considering attending WKU. There
are links and files on this Yahoo group site to help students
navigate the campus and find out more about Western. The group
welcomes new people from every WKU campus area.
I was in the NTSO, or Non-Traditional Student
Organization, while I was at Western a couple of years ago.
Now the NTSO group is not meeting at the campus,
but hopefully soon they will start up again.
If you are a WKU student, and are interested,
you can start a new group anytime. Contact the Student Activities
office for more info. at 270-745-2459.
